Default New sub for decklid

So iv had a 10 inch kicker comp running on my factory amp in my decklid for a while now.... thought it was time to upgrade!

Picked up the newer fosgate 12" t1

Also picked up a alpine mrp1000 on craigslist!
Checkin to see if it works lol

Got a loc for 20$ and it came with a bass ****!

For the hole since it was a 10" i didnt do any cutting. The metal was very thin i was able to bend the metal down 2 inches bigger using vice grips.

Using some rubber to get a tighter seal

Test fit fail

Ahhh much better

Remember those 4 bolts that you needed to take out to remove the stock subwoofer plate?
Well they lined up soo perfect i didnt need need to drill the sub into the decklid.

Alll done, looks pretty stock IMO

Still finding a spot to place the amp... So im sure your wondering how it sounds? Perfect. Imo better then it does in a box, the bass sounds like its in the car rather then behind you. Does the decklid rattle & trunk rattle? Nope not at all. What about sound quality? Sounds just like the stock ML just 10x louder. Hope you guys liked the pics. Just thought id show you guys what i did last weekend

Yup. The only thing that rattles is my front dome light lol.. But nothing in the back. There is a noise i hear but you really have to put your ear to the trunk. The only thing i added was foam around the sub to keep the sub from flexing into the stock sub grill, other then the rubber ring and foam its all stock deadening, i am going to post a video

Place the amp flat on that back little edge towards the back seats there, I got my Phoenix Gold 1500 watt amp back their and it looks VERY neat, u kinda got a mess going on there! lol zip tie the wires nice and neat to get rid of slack and u can cutback on the wires u got going on there, I think u will be much happier with it like that...

Lol it did! I took the cover off and saw that a peice of the sub rubber was getting grinded off
From flexing into the corner. Did a little cutting on the inside of the stock grill and now it clears. I added some taller foam to be sure. My first attempt you could hear the sub hitting the grill added some foam and now its gone.

I was actually thinking that... I think it would look nice right in the middle... But i also might hide the amp since i like peoples reactions when i open my trunk and they cant find the sub.. Only 1 person found it but he cheated and traced the wires to the deck lid, he looked up and said "ohh ****"

I cant say its good tho, the sub is not a free air so i dont know how the sub will handle the oversized box. My kicker took daily abuse for a while so that was my reason for giving this a try. I think if you can suffocate in a trunk, its sealed pretty well. Not to mention that the gs is sealed pretty well with the bolted seats, the extra layer of rubber and the deck lid that has a good 2 layers over the top. I will update if anything happens
