Default 1999 GS400 engine will drop right into a 2000 GS400, correct?

I have a 1999 GS400 with a good running engine(once I replace the starter). I found a clean 2000 GS400 that needs an engine. Will my 99 engine drop right into the 2000?
They are both the exact same cars other than the model year.
The body on my 99 is not as nice as the 2000. Figure while I have the engine out I will replace the starter, timing belt and W/P.

Yes it will interchange. You should do the maintenance stuff such as timing belt, water pump, seals, and gasket while the engine is outside of the car before the new engine is dropped in. Makes it easier vs trying to do it inside the car.

Related question: Can the GS430 V8 be dropped into the GS300 pretty easily? Or is there a lot of extra work needed?

Thanks! Waiting to hear back on if the dealer accepted my offer on the car.
If I get it, yes, I do plan on replacing all maintenance items while it is out of the vehicle.
