Introduction PRKeus, New GS430 owner
Hai there,
my name is Peter R Keus, coming from The Netherlands (or Holland).
Born in 1966, married and one son (prev. marriage), Also housing a horse and a German Shepherd-dog.
Looking forward to join the Club and share experiences.
This year (February) I had the opportunity to buy a used GS 430, with 197,000 km on the gauge.
With a wonderful V8 engine 4.3 liters.
As environmental rules and taxes become stricter and heavier, I suppose the last of the gas-guzzler's have their chance over the coming 5-10 years, before every one is drving electrical of is burdended under so much taxes, that you can not drive them anymore.
Just spent a week in Austria for skiing holiday, driving 1,000 kms up and down in 1 day each.
Seems like a time machine to me, with enough power to play.
Wonderful performance (coming from a V6-2,5 liter Mitsubishi Galant for the last 10 years)
Interior is black leather.
Only problem I face now is getting the navigation up and working: it stopped during the trip, claiming the DVD was not readable.
I Cleaned the DVD, but to no effect (was not that dirty either). Will try to clean the lens next.
Bit of a bugger, as the whole big display is out of use with an error-message.
What strikes me in the GS is its appearance of a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. It doesn't look a muscle-car, but it surely is. Inconspicious, overwhelming with luxury.
A thing that is on my list, is to change the CD-exchanger-unit.... Really?? coming from 2003, CDs were out-dated by then.... So I will look for a DVD or a USB-connection to install.

Blood Type B positive. haha, we're just messin with ya. Welcome to Club Lexus. Yes, i also see it as a wolf in sheep's clothing. This Forum will provide you with an answer or a DIY to almost anything you can think of. All it takes is a quick Advanced Search to find what you are looking for. Congrats on the GS and welcome

Thx for the warm welcome. :-)
@sevenevez: Who told you my bloodtype? If it was a lucky guess, then try a casino, cause you were spot-on.
More pics to come ASAP.
And the speedo: I tried it last week on the AutoBahn in Germany: stopped at 230 km/h because it became tedious (hahahaha) My son was playing his DS next to me and did not even bother to look up, because he did not notice the speed..... booooooring...

"What strikes me in the GS is its appearance of a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. It doesn't look a muscle-car, but it surely is." This is one of the things I like too. Especially when a 'Fast and Furious' type is racing from light to light, if I get alongside, I'll sometimes switch to ECT-PWR and often see a look of shock as I drive by. Juvenile behavior, I know.

Welcome aboard. Im sure you will enjoy your GS. Be sure to replace front suspension parts (upper and lower control arms, ball joints, tie-rods) if they have not been replaced recently. So your navigation system/screen is not working? Maybe your Lexus dealer can have it repaired or at least search for a replacement. I too look forward to more photos.
