Wheel width/offset/size and tire fitment Q&A thread
It seems that every other question asked on this sub-forum is about wheel/tire fitment. If you guys have any questions, just post them in this thread. There are a lot of knowledgeable members that can answer these types of questions. That should help a lot with the clutter.

I suppose I'll be the first to post something here. I've asked about this in another forum and was rudely told to search and not ask repeated questions about something that's been discussed elsewhere. I searched and found nothing to answer my exact questions.
I recently put factory 18s on my 02GS3 that came off an 07 GS450h. They came with the original runflat Dunlops (HORRIBLE tires!) that have about 7k on them. Once I put these on I noticed the car looked off, way too high up off the ground with massive fender gap. So I lowered it ~1 inch on Eibachs and did struts at the same time. Do I need to make any modifications such as spacers or anything to make this work or is it ok the way I have it set up? The 2nd gen GS came with 17" options but not 18. It's only an inch but they're also much wider tires (245-40-18).
Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks Infamous. I've been told I need spacers but didn't see it necessary given they're only an inch bigger and OEM wheels. They don't rub against the fenders at all even with the drop. Next step, changing the runflats with some nice Michelins to smooth out the tank-like ride!

You might have been told to get spacers because some members are really into getting the wheel as flushed as possible to the fender. Yes, the current setup does not rub the fenders and that is the, I think, objection.

its almost identicle height. very very very slight difference which i doubt will be noticeable by the human eye.

Well, what are your goal? If you are happy with how it looks and feel, what else are you looking for?
The specs are pretty conservative so I don't think there will be any fender rub issues. Depending on the drop specs, the only rub I might see happen (because you are going with the fat setup) is the top of the fender liner on big dips.
