How long is too long to get a tranny flush?

@ my work they do a gently kind of flush that works through the fill tube. It pulls a little and adds a little till it exchanges 10, 12, 14 qts. Depends on how big the transmission is. The first part of the service is with the engine off and then the vehicle is started and the service is continued. That way the fluid in the torque converter gets exchanged too.

Yea i've been looking for a DIY on changing the tranny fluid myself... Anyone find one? Or videos? How bout the DIff fluid, can we do that ourselves?
