*HELP!* Speed Sensor Replacement Write Up
Hi, New to CL and I'm not sure if there is a technical sub forum for these kind of posts, so I posted it here, hopefully its in the right area. Anyway,I was wondering if anyone has or can send me a link to a write up on replacing the front driver side speed sensor. I believe that one is out on my 02 GS. I have a check engine light, The ABS, VSC, And VSC OFF lights on my dash. The speedometer is stuck at 0 and doesn't move, but all of the other gauges work, Tach, gas, temp all work, and the Odometer is not incrementing. So, if I'm in the right ball park, that's the speed sensor correct?! If I'm on the right track, I would really appreciate a write up. Or, if this is another possible problem, feel free to bring it to my attention, or any tips or advice on what to do, or how to fix this is also appreciated. Thanks in advance!

its actually really simple. the sensor is bolted to the stearing knuckle itself. if im not mistaken its held on by either 1 or 2 10mm bolts. first follow the wire up into the splash guards and you will find the connectiong clip. once disconnected you can then test it for resistance if you havent already. it should read around 600-1400 ohms or something like that. (i cant remember exactly off the top of my head) after that all you have to do is take off the bolt that is holding the sensor in place. give it alittle wiggle if its stuck. it should slide right out though. grease up the new one alitte and throw it in. bolt it down and then connect it. then disconnect the battery for a few seconds to reset the ecu and take it for a spin. *** remember to pump your brakes a few times if you moved the caliper alittle while getting to the sensor before you drive it***

Now with the speed sensor, the one that I need. Is it like, a small little plug sensor, or is it that big long one that has what looks like a wiring harness on it? Im confused... Maybe Im mixing up a speed sensor with an abs sensor. Idk.
