Default 98 GS400 Replaced Transmission Mount

Just putting my $0.02 in on this. Today I replaced my transmission mount. I went to Oreillys Auto Parts and purchased mine. It's was $104 out the door with a lifetime warranty. The brand name is Anchor and part #9644.

It was easy,4 size 14 bolts on each end of the crossmember, 4 size 12 nuts in the center of the crossmember that is attached to the bottom of the mount and 4 size 12 bolts that hold the mount to the bottom of the transmission.

The aftermarket mount looks way more solid than the oem mount and had added bulk to it.

I replaces mine because when.I accelerate I could feel the motor shift towards the back of the car, plus I had vibration in the center of the car.

I just attached pics to show how bad mine was and how the new one looks.

130k ish miles, I used a jack and 2 jack stands. You will have to use the jack to lift the transmission back up order to line up the crossmember again. And I did look up Any torque specs, probably should have.

Easy job. 15-20 minutes tops. Did it in my boy's driveway.

....and I agree, they are much more solid than the OEM's. Kinda makes me wonder if Toyota opted to cheap out on this part. OP, which brand did you get? I ended up getting DEA's because this was an emergency repair and they were all I could get my hands on in a short amount of time

I went with Anchor. I've had DEA mounts on another car, and I have had a bad experience with them. I know that Anchor is a better brand, plus got a life time warranty. So I can't complain.
