Unhappy Started with a leak, an now......

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME POSTING.

BOUGHT MY FIRST LEXUS 01 GS 300 ON MY BIRTHDAY AND WAS ON MY WAY TO BUILDING A DREAM. NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A NIGHTMARE!!!

IT ALL STARTED WITH AN OIL LEAK. THANKS TO A FEW THREADS AN A EMAIL TO DALLAS, I MANAGED TO ORDER A VVT-I PULLEY O-RING. TOOK ME ABOUT 4 TIMES, TAKING APART MY CAR AND PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER, BEFORE I ACTUALLY LOCATED AND REMOVED THE PULLEY AND RE-INSTALLED. (LACK OF TOOLS AND WI-FI)

THEN A FEW DAYS LATER, I'VE NOTICED A CHANGE IN THE WAY IT RIDES. WHEN IM DRIVING, NO PROBLEMS UNLESS I GIVE IT ABOUT 50% OR MORE THROTTLE. SITTING STILL AT THE LIGHT OR EVEN PARKED, IT SHAKES. COME TO FIND OUT, THE SPARK PLUGS WERE CHARD DUE TO OIL AND COOLANT.. ANOTHER OIL LEAK??? WTF!!

CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND CHECKED THE VALVE COVER GASKETS TO MAKE SURE THAT WASNT THE CAUSE AN PROCEEDED ON MY VACATION TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS. SHE RAN GREAT THE WHOLE 8 HOURS WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR SPUDDERING.

AS SOON AS I GOT BACK, MY CHECK ENGINE AND VSC LIGHT COMES ON!!! I CANT WIN FOR LOSING. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, IM SMELLING COOLANT THROUGH MY VENTS WHEN IM CALLING FOR HEAT. NO HEAT BTW AND NOW SHE IS OVER HEATING LIKE A STRIPPER IN CHURCH!

JUST CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT AND DROVE HER AROUND THE BLOCK ONLY TO BE DISAPPOINTED THAT SHE IS STILL OVERHEATING. ALL OUT OF IDEAS AND MY POCKETS ARE SLIMMING DOWN. ANY IDEAS I CAN TRY BEFORE I CALL MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND LET THEM DEAL WITH IT...

Sounds like a blown head gasket. Check for milky engine oil (sign of coolant in the oil).

Are you in the D/FW area? If so, maybe hit up JeffTsai. He's the only guy I'd take my car to for anything like this.

thanks for the suggestion an i would hit up jeff, if i was in that area. I actually ordered some o-rings from him. But i'm about 3hr away with the whole interstate on repair status.. Sucks i know! But i might do so anyways. He might have a solution to my increased problem

UPDATE: 1-06-2014

SO I FOUND A EUROPEAN AUTO SHOP NAMED EUROTECH CAR CARE LOCATED IN KILLEEN,TX....(JUST IN CASE YOU HEARD OF IT)... FOR A DIAGNOSTICS CHECK, WAS ONLY 40 BUCKS SO I HAD A PROFESSIONAL LOOK AT IT. I DIDN'T HAVE THE HEADS LOOKED AT BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS THAT I NEED NEW GASKETS SO I WENT FOR THE OIL LEAK (AKA.THE HEART OF THIS NIGHTMARE).

CRANKSHAFT SEAL, CAMSHAFT SEAL, ANOTHER TIMING BELT , THE BELT IDLER AND TENSIONER IS WHAT THEY RECOMMENDED.... AND MY WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER ANY OF THESE ITEMS. SO AFTER THIS $700 INVESTMENT, I CAN CONTINUE WITH THE REST OF MY DREAM

YO JEFFTSAI, IF YOUR READING THIS, HELP ME!!! LOL

When was the last time the timing belt was done? Did you ever pull the code from the check engine light to see what the ECU is trying to tell you?

Don't fork over $700 for more work until you're sure it's going to fix your issues. If you know you have a bad head gasket, changing the timing belt and crank/cam oil seals isn't likely to fix much.

Oh...and...
