Blank Navigation Screen
Hello All,
My navigation screen is now totally blank 90% of the time. When I'm lucky and turn on the car the navigation screen turns on just fine and after driving for a few minutes it just turns ALL WHITE and I cannot see a thing. The touch pad still works so I can still change radio stations, climate controls, etc. It is just a nuisance to memorize where each button is located and whatnot. Any advice on what it can be? Would the entire screen need to be replaced or can it be fixed? I would certainly appreciate any info!!

I'm assuming you've got a GS 400 with the early style navigation, http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-05-lexus-GS300-Gs400-navi-navigation-screen-player-unit-88650-3A230-/121151868606?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item1c3536cebe&vxp=mtr. If you go aftermarket you're going to have to buy a climate control panel and rewire the stereo system, so buying a plug and play unit is going to save you a lot of trouble.

Hello all. I had the same issue with my 1998 Lexus Gs400 Navigation. When I’d start up my car the screen would turn white as well. I realized my only couple of options were to deal with it , buy a factory used replacement but those run $500+ or buy a climate control unit and then another headunit and deal with the hassle of rewiring everything. i really didn’t want to do any of those. but i figured out that if you can just keep putting your car in and out of accessory mode until the lexus logo pops up like normal and not the white screen , then you can start up your car and it’ll be just fine. but obviously you don’t wanna keep having to do this. but i figured out. if you press “screen off” button before you turn off your car , once you turn it on again it’ll still be off. then you can press menu to open it back up to normal which completely bypasses the logo load up which is the problem and where the white screen occurs. just gotta make sure everytime u turn off the car to hit screen off. yeah it’s kinda annoying but way better than having a white screen all the time and easier than buying a expensive replacement or rewiring something else in. lmk if that helps anyone!
