Default 19's or 20's for my GS400 and why?

Let me begin by stating I have done a lot of looking on the web but I want to get the opinion of my fellow GS brethren. I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm not in love with my current wheels and I've decided to go with a mesh style wheel. I found several I like in my price range ($300 - $400) but the one I like best is the Stance St-1. The only catch is it only comes in 20's.

Currently I'm lowered on Tanabe DF210's with a 19" staggered setup.

Is one preferred for performance?

I know the 19's offer a little more sidewall so the ride will be a little different. But how much?

Also looking for general opinions on which you prefer and if you have a pic of your ride on 19's or 20's, please post!

Honestly, you should go with whichever wheels you like best. For performance, honestly it'll come down to which setup is the lightest when you factor in the weight of tires... for example: you can have a set of 19's that come out to 60lbs with tires, but if you have a set of 20's that weigh 50lbs with tires the 20s will perform better overall.

The sidewall will also depend on the tires you get. You can get meatier tires for either set, but you should also factor in how much it will affect your speedometer.

Finally, as for opinions I prefer to have both Here's my 19/20 setup:

Specs are:
19x9.5 et12 w/ 225/35/19
20x11 et30 w/ 275/30/20

Thank you for the info. Sweet ride you have there. Did you have to do any modification for your setup? I like your wheels as well... What kind are they? They look very similar to the ones im looking at, but in black with a mirror lip.

By modification do you mean fender work? If so, then yes. The rears were shaved and the fronts were rolled and slightly pulled.

The wheels are Varrstoen ES1's in Hyperblack color.
