I wish we were neighbors, I would love to learn how to do that stuff. I need to do my servo motor too.

Good to see someone actually doing a proper service before spending their money on something else. The suspension on my car is killing me, paid 500 for an upper control arm, 300 for each lower ball joint, and I think my other upper control arm is making a noise, that or it's a bushing or something. Thankfully the caster arms are good but I already have those. You're saving a bunch if money doing this stuff yourself.

My mistake it was 150 per ball joint, 300 together. I got the moog ball joints but the dealer put them in. The upper control arm was an eom replacement that the dealer changed as well. I know I should have shopped around, but at the time it was just convenient because I was already there getting an oil change or some other service done and they aligned it and gave me a loaner. To those out there, don't do what I did haha. I found the left upper control arm for 140 and someone who would change it for $40, a family friend.

I'm taking in my inner + outer tie rods & my lower ball joints soon to get changed. All MOOG products. My mechanic is well trained in that area and he's only charging me $200. He just recently charged me $350 to change out both cats, gaskets, and all 4 o2 sensors. 1 o2 sensor came defective but everything else went great. Can't wait to do the suspension and get a good alignment!

Thanks guys

Yeah I try and do as much as I can to my cars now because just like Gerrb over in the SC forums says "No one is going to care more about your car than you" PERIOD!!! I had to learn this the hard way.

I'm going to show you guys the result of having someone you don't know, and taking info from a so called friend who said he is friends with the guys at the shop.... (***Also not listening to my wife, she told me she had a bad feeling about the shop, so fellas sometimes its good to listen to your woman****) work on your car.

This is my SC (92 sc300 5-speed) bought it back in 2011 it ran well was just ruff around the edges and just needed basic maintenance (kinda like my GS now) I knew what I wanted to do with it, since I had my daily (93 Toyota pickup) this was to be my project car. I wanted to put a gte engine and have my first turbo car

VVVVV
Here it is when I bought it back in 2011, the day after I bought it

Very nice, always had a soft spot for those. Now with the new rc, can't wait to be done with school and hopefully be able to pick up a used one a few years old. Great thread keep it going.

I wish I had more in between shots of the swap but I just explain... The story is so long so Im just going to run thru it because this thread is about my GS not the SC

Had friend who had SC with a 1jzgte single turbo manual swap
He decided to sell his set up
I said I would buy it from him (in my mind I'm thinking it going from SC to SC it was running ok to my knowledge in his car so why not buy it from him)
He suggested I used his guy who does this swap all the time in his shop
I trusted him and went ahead and did it
Got car back nothing but problems and cut corners
I'm not going to get into all the problems the car had it was just not up to my standards of what I was expecting.
The only good thing that came of this was after I made up my mind to start selling parts the money gotten from it was used to buy my GS

Here is the result of someone working on you car...the car has been without an engine since Nov 2013, but the car has been sitting in my driveway since the beginning of 2012. So needless to say I have not really driven this SC since 2011 ***Note the car sits under a tarp & car cover to protect it a little from the elements, just took them off to do a little work on the car yesterday***

Well nothing major to update (still waiting to order my Castor Arms #2 but bills gotta be paid first) but today I got some Sylvania 168. Man what a difference some bulbs can do to get rid of that little annoying warning brake-out light.

FYI: these bulbs are replacing the High mount brake light bulbs inside the car...10 min D.I.Y.

You can really see the difference between the old and new Castor Arms....
