Introduction & My New GS3
What's up CL. My name's Chris and this is my first post ever on CL, but I've been browsing through here ever since I was interested in buying a second generation GS.
So I did finally end up buying one, in a pretty bad condition exterior wise, but almost brand new interior wise. The engine is all good as well. And for $5,200, I'd say it was a good deal.
Now the only thing that annoys me deeply about this car right now, is the rims it came with. My god the moment I saw it on the car I was about to walk away with out even looking at the rest. I live in LA, and I bought the car from a pretty ghetto area, so you can guess how the rims are. 20" chrome wheels that looks like it was purchased from Pepboys.
Ugliest things I've seen
Yeah it's embarassing driving this around, but **** who ever hates because this is going to be a succesfully stanced out vehicle soon
The car needs a lot of work, paint job, rims, body work, etc. but everything else is just flawless really.
I haven't done anything to the car besides plastidip the grill so that hole isn't as noticeable LOL.
Here are some pictures.
That's the bumper not being aligned right, leaving a gap thats the size of a finger between the headlight and bumper.
Trunk isn't aligned right either, or the spring was set to high, either way easy fix.
Here is the part of the cars paint being messed up. (it doesn't look bad here because I polished this part)
But here you can see the clear coat peeling off. Yeah definitely needs a paint job.
So first thing I plan on doing, is getting rid of these rims and replacing them with IS250 rims temporarily. After that, the costy and fun things start:
Fix the front bumper alignment and trunk alignment to prepare for a paint job.
Replace grill (so it can be painted a different colored black during the paint job)
Remove spoiler and bondo the holes
Two/Three/Four Stage Paint Job (either Black Onyx or Obsidian, feel free to leave your opinion on it) Not sure what paint job I'm going to do as I haven't been quoted for one yet, but my friend got a Stage Four on his S2k (midnight purple) for only 2,000. Don't know how, but hey if I get the same offer, why not?
A nice interior and exterior detail
Tint windows (Back Limo, front lightest tint)
Resonator delete (tell me your opinions on that)
Megan LP coilovers (pretty sure on these over the EZ Streets)
TTE replica lip
Rims: I have a couple options but as of now, I'm REALLY digging Varrstoen ES 1.1.2 in 19x9.5 and 19x11
That's about it for now, I'm sure this list is going to massively increase later on. Thanks for looking guys, you'll be seeing me post a lot on here and making a update thread soon.

Thanks pal
It was 5200.
Thanks bro. Yeah that's one of the reasons I took it. To put work into restoring it instead of buying one that was fixed up and modified already.
I posted the stuff I want to do to it. As far as engine mods, I'm not to sure. Depends on how long I'm going to keep it. But if I keep it long, definitely a swap to a 2jzgte
Thanks man.
