I'd look into a respray on the rear bumper, and a detail on the rest of the car. Nothing compares to OEM paint, so do what you can to try and save it before resorting to the other option.
I agree on preserving the oem paint. Have you considered wrapping your car perhaps??
3m and Avery makes some incredible colors with special finishes that'll really make the car pop and stand out while still keeping the original paint.
I'd rather avoid wrapping, the large reason my dad is willing to pay for this is because it might increase the resale value.
It won't. A repaint should raise a red flag to any potential buyer. The fact that the paint wasn't maintained properly should raise questions as to whether the rest of the car was maintained or not.

Yep, nailed it. Getting a very nice detail on the car and getting it looking priceless inside and out will allow you to raise the price on it though.
Even if its the same color code..Any aftermarket paint that isn't factory will depreciate the cars re-sale value regardless. Imo wraps more durable than paint and serves almost as a deflector vs road debris and wear&tear. Plus a high quality wrap job is only a fraction the cost of a high quality paint. Here's a brushed titanium finish that paint simply can't achieve...
there's really no alternative to cover rock chips and cracks unless you get it repainted. I'll be taking my car in next week to get the front bumper repainted as well as the TTE lip remolded. I can't complain really. It's last 8 years and painting will make it look new again.
that LS turned out great J . that could be something that I would consider on the GS. like I said before I love that Anthracite color.
Yup, take it to a good detailer and have them buff it out. Your oem paint looks to be in decent shape. That rear bumper needs to be resprayed though. GL......

The LS looks fresh bro. In person it looks way better. I'd consider doing some sort of white brushed metal finish if I can find one.
Matte paint huh? Wonder if its cheaper than wrap?
Come to think of it, I'd like to wrap my engine cover in carbon fiber.
Be very careful.. i wrapped my engine cover on my Optima and the corners lifted up.. A few bubbles but nothing major.. For the most part it held up but give it try
I'll look into that Repaint. But due to curiosity how does care go into a wrapped car? Can I still wax it? Im gonna try and get some money set aside to get the car opti-coated.
