Need help getting this hitch on my 2gs
So, this is not a thread about getting a hitch or not, cause Im buying one regardless. If the australians do it(and they use class 2+), so can we.. I have a bike rack that Im converting to haul tires for the track, and I also wouldnt mind having some extra cargo opportunities for work, plus Im moving in a few months. I called all sorts of places, but they can only offer me class 1 hitches, and I'd prefer class 2 or higher... JCWhitney claimed this class 3 fits... just curious if anyone has any educated opinions before I pull the trigger on the purchase. I'm rocking the 2jzgte with ls brakes, so all i really need to do is add a tranny cooler and maybe upgrade my rear springs to accommodate the extra weight.. and I guess raise my car too..

Problem with a Class 3 is you will probably scrape it often, so be cautious. I have a Class 3/4 on my Big Block Suburban K2500. I have even scraped it and it has 4 inches factory more ground clearance than a K1500.
But Class 3 has the larger receiver which is always a benefit, but ground clearance suffers. My 94 Fleetwood has a Class 2 (factory 7000 tow package, but hitch isn't part of the tow package), and it scrapes easy, but it has long overhangs.
Last class 1 I bought was only attached to the bumper, it was a joke. I would avoid it, Was on my 91 Lumina.
