Default Is it normal for the rear control arm to have some play in the bushing ?

I have an 01 430 went under the car and was able to slightly wiggle side to side the control arm because the bushing allows the arm to slightly move a tiny bit side to side. My mechanic said its normal only the front isn't supposed to move but that doesn't seem right to me I thought they were supposed to be completely tight and he's the type of mechanic that tells me things are good unless they are broken because he doesn't want me to waste money unless its broke. Any opinions if they are supposed to move or not. Its one of the lower control arms i forgot which one it was. Thanks

If that's gonna be your response might as well have not said ANYTHING I'm sick of people telling me to go search. I'm asking if anyone knows if its supposed to be super tight with no play or slightly loose. THIS CAN NOT BE FOUND SEARCHING. threads don't state whats supposed to be normal I'm asking people who know this car the real answer.

Yes, very minimal play is normal for that rear lower arm. Your mechanic is right in that regard.

Members have asked why I'm not on CL as often as I used to, I always say the same thing.

Out of many reasons I've stopped activity here on CL, one is because of the frequency of members flaming for not searching. I'll admit I used to do the same I was guilty of the same thing, but after the thread was written in regards to, "re-establishing our sence of community" I quit doing so. Then I just stopped visiting the sight all together 'cause its sickening having to see the same persons saying and flaming the same thing over and over.

Whats even more preposterous is it's the same people who've posted in that community thread stating, "yea thats a great idea, we need to" which just shows they're oblivious of what they're doing or are just plain stupid.

Its common sense that people have a different levels of search intelligence or just dont have the proper automotive vocabulary. One can't just assume that just because you're good at searching or just have no life and have read and posted in every thread that others can do or have done the same. I consider myself to be fantastic at searching, however I too find myself blank with words or terms to use and when the member who does know what term I was supposed to use, it becomes a big "DUH" and I feel dumb... I can only imagine how someone feels after searching as best as they could being called a liar about searching.

This statement may not be completely significant to this thread, but all I'm really sating is STOP IT!

As said in the thread, give the answer looking for, mention other words to search for, search and post links to the answer or better yet... Just keep your mouth [fingers] shut and don't contribute at all.

Exactly!! Perfectly said! Some people are amazing at searching obviously and some aren't. I'm sick of people with nothing better to say especially sakataj. Thanks for the official speach man

I'm just going to say, I'm not really one to tear people apart about not helping themselves before reaching out to the community, but I will more than likely be less motivated to lend a helping hand to an individual that makes quite a lot of threads over the course of a week, all of which are relatively simple/common issues; some not even 2GS specific. I mean no disrespect, DMPesso. Just giving my $0.02 on the topic.

Guys, we've had this discussion MANY TIMES publicly and privately. Folks who have been notified of doing this as a trend, you know better and we expect better of you.

Its absolutely detrimental to CL for you to post "Use search" answers without taking the time to help the member with some links or keywords. Do. Not. Do. It. Your bumping the thread for an absolutely worthless reply annoys MANY hundreds or thousands of members.

We are always going to have new members that don't know better and even those that are either too lazy or technically incompetent to do it (sorry OP I didn't look at your posts to see if there is a trend but this is a true statement for many). No matter what we do we cannot stop that other than shutting the forum down.

If somebody annoys you regularly, use the forum ignore list and let their posts scream in silence rather than waste everyone here's time with a personal callout or useless reply telling them to search.

Lets get this thread back on topic please. If anyone needs further clarification pm me
