Need some wisdom from my fellow lexus brethren
Started up my car few days ago (GS400). Ran really rough so I popped the hood and noticed the engine was shaking a little. I get back in to turn it off and noticed the dreaded VSC lights on. Also the check engine light was flashing. Got out my trusty old scanner and got numerous codes.
P0300 Random Misfire Detected
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
P0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected
I changed the 4 spark plugs on the cylinders mentioned and swapped all coil packs. Still had the issue and same code.... So I went online and started to do some research. I came to the conclusion it might be the oil control valve on the passenger side because they were misfiring on that side. So I replaced the passenger side Oil Control Valve. Still had the issue.
I dont know what else it could be. O2 sensors? I just hope i don't need a new engine. By the way theres also a little bit of knocking as well
Im not exactly sure how to tell if o2 have gone bad. This is what my scanner picked up:
STFT B1 (%) 19.53
LTFT B1 (%) 0.00
STFT B2 (%) 19.53
LTFT B2 (%) 0.00
Eng RPM 1027
IAT('C) 37
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I didn't get a code for a knocking but when the engine is running you can clearly hear it.
No oil in the coolant and gas cap looks good too. Also when the car is cold and I start it, it immediately wants to die from low idle. I have to give it a little gas to keep it running. Once it warms up it runs a little better but engine still shakes and misfires. I cleaned my MAF with CRC sensor cleaner but that didn't help. Would a faulty MAF cause this?

Nope no oil leaks or anything. I reset the codes and went for a drive yesterday and got an additional 2 more codes. One being p1346 and the other p1351. Could it be the camshaft position sensor?

Hey guys reporting back. Finally bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. Apparently my timing belt had jumped 6 teeth and I had 40-50psi compression on the driver side which is literally nothing. Car runs very smooth now, no problems or engine lights.
I had my timing belt replaced 45000 kms ago. I used the aisin kit and watched my mechanic do everything. Still not sure why it jumped. Just wanted to posted back here and hopefully it helps someone in the future with a similar problem. Thanks
