Default Tire help asap

So I got used 18' rims with tires. The tires are in poor shape 235/45/18. My friend works at BMW and gave me two tires for the rear 255/35/18 and 2 tires for the front 225/40/18. Will the car drive ok since they are on separate axles? Any advice is a great help

Why would you put wider tires in the front?

Yes, the car will drive fine. 2WD cars/trucks don't need matched tire sizes front to back. That said the difference in diameter of the two tire sizes he gave you is about .1 of an inch, a negligible difference.

These newer tires are 1.3 inches shorter then the tire you are taking off. You probably will not be able to see the difference though.

So the weight load of the vehicle should hold up fine going from 45 series to 35 and 40 series? AlsoI shouldn't have a problem with the speedometer or the abs light for that matter? Thanks for your response I'm trying not to spend $600 on tires if I don't have to.
