Troubleshoot car audio and Battery corrosion!
A month ago I had a friend install 2 amps(hifonics&phoeinix) to the factory speakers and sub. It was all good except for the pop noise that happens every time I turn on or off the car. Couple weeks later I received a used JL amp so I had it installed and this time the pop noise got louder each time it's turned on/off, in addition to that I have constant static noise which sounds louder in the back passenger side. My friend suspects the amp was messed up and + longer RCA wires. Re ran the wires today, then when he was half way done he spots corrosion on my battery terminal.. A lot of it too. No engine noise when revving. Anybody know what could possibly be the problem? If I replaced the battery, does the ground wire have to be replaced too? Or just get a new amp.
P.S Their is currently no sound coming out at all as though its on mute
