My compressor seized so im buying a new one, i am goin with denso but my question is is that all i replace? Do i need a new expansion valve? Condensor? or anthing else i should know? Thanks in advance

You will need a new receiver dryer for sure since the system has been open to outside moisture when you remove the compressor. They also recommend the expansion valve because often when the compressor craps out pieces of debris from the compressor clog the valve. Some people will flush the condenser too to remove any trapped debris.

I did the compressor replacement on a Toyota of mine and didn't do the expansion valve and regret that. It blows cold at speed but in traffic it will get warmer than a properly functioning air conditioner would. Still cool but not like it should be. They all get less cold with little air moving thru the condenser in traffic but the guy that filled mine attributed my warmer than normal condition to my not changing the valve.

Honestly, people will say replace everything...expansion valve, dryer, etc. I bought my compressor from a junkyard for $125, installed it and it works fine with no problems. I didnt replace anything else. The expansion valve is behind the dash (search it to see the DIY with pics). I was quoted $800-$1500 to replace the ac compressor, valve, dryer by a few shops. Do what you need to do, but this was my experience, replacing the AC isnt too much work really. I believe if you buy a BRAND NEW compressor and dont replace the other parts, you VOID your warranty on that part. Like I said, mine was from a junkyard and was sold as-is with no warranty. IF you buy a used compressor have new bearings installed because more than likely they will be close to going out since our vehicles are older.
