Correct. I use an iPhone as my phone but I have an old POS Android phone (not in service) that I keep in the armrest just for Torque Pro.

REV was one of the first OBD-II mobile apps for a smartphone, IIRC. It doesn't work with Bluetooth adapters or I'd already have it.

Does anyone know how to get the odometer readout on torque pro, I've got a GS300 2JZ-GTE VVTI front clip with factory ecu, but no cluster. Does Torque Pro have a odometer readout, can it get info about odometer via OBDII?

Thanks All.

Works great for me. Using bluetooth connectivity and it hasn't let me down. Love the real-time feature!

Does anyone have any specs for 2nd gen GS, so we can compare to what were getting on this torque app?

I'm using BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool and it works great

For those who asked about using apps on an iPhone: you need a WiFi ELM327 adapter in order to do the same thing there. The reason is that Apple restricts Bluetooth data communication. The other alternative is to jailbreak your iPhone and then you can use Bluetooth, but I don't recommend that - it comes with many other side effects that you wouldn't want. Some apps do exist through the official channels: Rev, DashCommand, and they work with WiFi adapters. Torque does not have an iOS version.

I'd offer you our own app, Carista for Android, but it doesn't do any real-time data. And its unique Lexus-specific functionality is not compatible with the 2GS... so But it does do OBD2 code reading and clearing, and it does it with a much simpler interface than the others.

Hi guys
Sorry I know this is an old thread now but I finally got Torque Pro to work on my 2000 GS300!

I think the problem is that my GS300 is a jap import meaning that the OBD2 port is actually a JOBD2 (jap version of OBD2 I guess). Most of the U.S new GS300 already fully complied with OBD2 while the imports dont.

So heres some instructions to get Torque Pro to work for the JOBD2 GS300 owners (or anyone with a 2JZGE VVTI jap import)

The following info is from: http://www.2jzgarage.com/2013/01/2jz...d-information/

Requirements;

Buy a ELM327 scanner tool – ELM327 Interface Bluetooth OBD2 Auto Scanner V1.4 OBDII
Purchase and install Torque Pro Android software – Torque Pro Google Play
In the vehicle profile of the Torque Pro application add the following line in the VERY ADVANCED ELM327 section
ATIB 96 \n ATIIA 13 \n ATSH8213F0 \n ATSP4 \n 0100
Now from some reading those settings mean;

ATIB96 = Set the ISO baud rate to 9600bps
ATIIA 13 = Set ISO (slow) Init Address to 13
ATSH8213F0 = Set Header to 8213F0
ATSP4 = Set protocol to 4 (ISO 14230-4 KWP (5 baud init, 10.4Kbaud))
0100 = Start Sending Data

In the "preferred OBD2 Protocol" box i chose "ISO 14230-4 (fast init, 10.4k Baud) - this seems to make the readings less laggy.

Hope this helps some of you out.

I have a ELM327 mini that I use on my 2GS with my dinosaur Galaxy SII. Torque Pro has always been great.

That's all good man, I know how frustrating it was for me when I couldn't get it working. So I thought there must be more like me! - I'm from NZ

Justin2JZ - Have you got any customs Lexus/Toyota pids that work? I'm wondering if there's any additional sensor PID info that were all missing out on.
