Default Question regarding K&N intake.

I have a 2000 GS300, but I've noticed the "K&NŽ - 57 Series Generation II Air Intake Kit" Link Here says 4.0 liter engine on the description. Does anyone know if this air intake is compatible with the I6 GS300? Also, is this a relatively solid intake kit?

its not.

us gs300 are limited with only a few intakes.

I believe weapon R, and SRT (the one I have) are two out of the few that are compatible

Oh, mine's a 2000, so I assume I would use 98-00 instead of the 01-05 intake.

Hmm do these things really work? Seems the factory air cleaner has "ram air" feature which would seem a heck of a lot better. And I dont buy the K/N stuff, they have been compared to many other element filters and lost in every case except SUPER high flow applications like twin carb supercharged big block top fuel type motors.

Dang, and $600 for 10 extra hp? seems pretty expensive for such small gain.

Typical Performance gains: +22HP and +22ft/lb torque. Other enhancements like an exhaust system and header system will only compliment the system and the system will automatically adapt to accomodate the enhancements.
most people do it for looks/sounds anyways

I'm pretty confident that if I purchase an intake system the SRT would be the one I would get, but is the acceleration jump noticeable for the driver?

I waited to buy mine use (no harm, since its just an intake anyways)

I definitely notice a jump in the higher RPM's theres debate whether it does the same at lower RPMS.

Theres the dyno SRT did somewhere I just can't find it. The intake definitely ROARS though which is what I love.
