Angry Mirror won't stay on windshield? Frustrated!!

I decided after reading a thread on here to buy the newer style mirror for my gs4 that has the digital compass because it was plug and play.. After going to all the work of swapping them out it never came on but the worst part was I can't get my mirror to reattach to my windshield so now it's just dangling there... I messed with that thing for almost 2 hours and finally gave up and took pictures in hopes someone on cl could maybe help out! I really hope I don't have to replace my windshield over a $30.00 broken mirror!! Sorry if the pictures aren't that great, all I had was my phone with me.

when putting the mirror back in you need to first slide the part that is sticking out on the mirror into the opening of the holder on your windshield. after that as you are sliding the rest of the mirror into place you then need to squeeze on the 2 white circle tabs and push up and it should then click into place on if they are lined up with the holes on the windshield bracket.

I'll give it a shot again, but it was like the white circle tabs didn't stick out far enough to hold it in place.

When i got my windshield done they broke that piece... So i need a new one now. I believe after you put it into the hook thing there is a screw that goes in after.

SC400_2nV, I noticed you had you mirror split open with the guts out. How hard or easy was it to open it up? I'm trying to do the same without leaving marks on the mirror housing.

Yeah i had this issue with the SC400. There are two ball bearings like Gill stated that aren't showing. I was missing one of them and it kept dropping after a few bumps. I used super glue to hold the bearing in place and then it finally snapped back in. it is a slide in place pop in to lock type motion.
