so when i bought this car about a month and a half ago,...at idle the engine was smooth as can be,....i have put about 5k on it as far as my own miles go....i put a new serp belt on it,...slightly better but still a little sqweeky unless in drive, or above idle rpm....

im thinking its time for a new pully or something....i used a stethiscope wand and i think im heading more noise from the harmonic balancer pully....has anyone else had this same issue or close to?

im not wanting to spend an arm and a leg replacing the entire pully set...(idler, ect,ect) but i will, ya know...


let me hear some advise please.

Check the rubber on the balancer (if it has any, I've never looked at mine), you might have a tiny rip in it, may not be noticeable either. I cant remember my symptoms, but that happened to my drag car. I couldnt for the life of me find what it was, dont even remember how I figured it out... I think it finally just snapped the rubber.
