Default Replacement of Bushings

Hi Everyone
New member here - in Waterford Ireland.

I have a 2001 Lexus GS300 from new and the car still drives wonderfully. It is of an age now where is requires a regular yearly Road Safety Test. A recent service has identified a number of faults all to do with Bushings as follows:

Rear Axle Bushing Right & Left - Worn
Front Suspension Bushings Right & Left - Split
Rear Stub Axel Rod Right & Left Bushes - Cracked

I am advised that these faults will cause the car to fail its next Road Safety Test. I have been advised that replacement costs of these parts to make right these cracked, worn split bushings will exceed €3000 or over $4000. I am told the reason for this is that these bushings are not available as individual parts, but are only available attached to the parts with which they are associated - with the whole arms as examples.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Alan

rhdjapan sells trd bushings for our cars. They are in Japan - I just ordered $450 worth, to replace front lca bushings#1 and caster bushing #2, in rear I ordered uca bushes, lca bushes and stub axle bushes. I haven't put them in yet, but it won't be cheap. Still better than replacing all those suspension parts!

your car is an 01 and while it is possible that these bushings could be cracked/worn/split, i dont believe it. i think someone is trying to get some money out of you.

i would go to another shop.
