Default Car had locks changed. Options?

I just got my GS300 a few weeks ago. It turns out that at some point the previous owner lost all the keys and had the locks changed. So the locks for the ignition/doors/trunk don't match the valet and glove box locks. Also, all 4 actuators are bad. So I'm kind of wondering what my options are to get my power/remote locks back. It seems like my only option is to buy all the locks+ECU+remote keys from another GS300. Is that right? I've also seen some ghetto looking universal power door lock kits on ebay. Would that work? I'm not really against it. I just want my power/remote locks back. I don't really care how.

Just replace all the door lock actuator motors and program your key fob. Your power door lock work independently from the ignition. When I picked up my Gs, the driver door actuator was shot and the key fob buttons were glued together. I could only start the car and that was it. I replaced the door lock actuator motor using the DIY on the forum and got a new key fob and re-programmed it. Works like a charm. I bought 4 of those actuator motor for $20 just in case another one goes out.

I don't have a key fob, only a valet key. I shouldve mentioned that.

They didn't lose their keys, they bought the lock kit. That's what comes in the kit, so some stealership got over on the owner. They tried to make me purchase that whole kit when someone damged my pass door lock cylinder. I didn't purchase the whole kit, I just installed a new cylinder and had the lock rekeyed to match my existing key. Look into getting it rekeyed. So do you only own the valet key??

You won't last long here if you can't read between the line of how they are offering options on how you can fix your ride. Just an FYI search and they prolly won't be so much an *** to you.

[QUOTE=Longchampe;7797980]I don't have a key fob, only a valet key. I shouldve mentioned that.

I'm not sure if you can put your car into program mode with the valet key but I did read on one of the key programming post that somebody did programmed a new key fob with the grey valet key. I would first fix your four door lock actuators. Buy some fob blanks and get the key cut at the dealer. You can buy used fob on ebay and use the remote portion to put into your new fob and program that to your car. Just make sure the FCC # matches your car. I'm pretty sure it's the same as mine which is HYQ1512V. You can take out the key ecu and check to make sure that's the correct FCC ID.

I spent $10 on two new blanks and $50 to cut the keys and $50 for a used fob.

Good luck
