Default aftermarket 17's or paint my stock 5 stars gunmetal?

Im not into the big rim look really and i have new tires in 235/45/zr17 and my stock 5 stars are showing their age, anyone know any sporty rims that would look good on my daily 400? I was just gonna get them refinished and painted gunmetal instead of aftermarket maybe.. thoughts on which route i should take?

What is the weight of those wheels? Seems the previous owner had the dealer install them on my GS300 and yesterday was the first day I removed them. They feel about 10 lbs heavier than the 16" GS300 stock wheels.

If they end up weighing a lot more than aftermarket wheels, I'd save the refinishing/paint money and just sell them as is and get lighter wheels.

Aftermarket wheels in stock sizes rarely look good. Refinish your stock 17's

don't waste money on either. stock 17s are well stock 17s. not good looking unless you are lowered and spacered out.

and definitely don't get aftermarket 17s cuz it will just look too small and be a waste of money. why would you buy new wheels the same size as oems, might as well just use oems then.

Because i have brand new 17" tires i paid $700 for with only a 1000 miles on my stock 17's right now, maybe i should just browse the classifieds for something bigger with tires

Don't do it. It's not going to look good.

Save your money. Wait until your new tires are worn out. Then buy baller wheels/tires when the time comes that you need new tires. Aftermarket 17" wheels are just a waste of cash.

All my opinion, of course.

The GS five spoke wheels are like Benz five spoke AMG and BMW M Parallel wheels. Buying anything aftermarket in the same size would be a downgrade. You have the BEST look if you are staying at 17s. There are a few loose 17s on Ebay that pop up once in a while for short money. Replace the bad ones. Then maintain them and clean the wheels with mild soap and wax the wheels on a regular basis

Like everyone else has stated. Aftermarket 17's will cheapen the look of the car.
