Want to put LED daytime running lights in my 99 gs400 . What will this consist of and what to look for ???? Any suggestions ?

Our DRL is the high beam bulb at 20%...So in order to get LED DRL you would have to swap that bulb out with a LED DRL kit. There is a sacrifice of your high beams if you go that route. Another option is to add LED DRL strip lights to the car. The last option, that I can think of, is if you buy new headlamps with LED DRL built into it. A simple google search will show you your options. My suggestion for what you should do would be...Do what you like, at the end of the day it's your car.

Someone ran into an issue not too long ago doing this same mod. LED's are not like traditional bulbs, they don't dim. They are either on or off for the most part, so they require a full 12+ volts in order to work properly. During the day, they may not work at all in daytime running light mode due to the lack of 12v.

Are the DRLs the high beams running at a lower wattage, or the small little bulbs? Whoever had the car before me put leds in and during the day there is no light, but when the headlights are on they are lit, looks a lot like the new(er) mercedes e class'. I also still have my high beams
