I damaged my 7 spoke chrome 17x8 wheels and instead of paying $600 per OEM wheel I am deciding to go with a set of 4 aftermarket wheels. I am keeping the same tire size of 235/45R17 that way I dont have to buy new tires also. But most manufacturers only sell 17x7.5" instead of 17x8" I know it's such a tiny difference but I am trying to find some but coming up with only 7.5" widths in the styles I liked. I have my eye on these Enkei RSF5 wheels in black http://www.enkei.com/rsf5.shtml they offer in offsets +40 and +50. Stock offset is +50 on the 17x8" so should I get the +40 with the 17x7.5" to keep the same fender clearance? Thanks. Any other input appreciated.

I'm sure if you look around, you can find a set of oem 17s under $500. Or why not upgrade to some oem 18s. If you're set on going aftermarket, you have to get hub centric rings and even with those you might get vibration. The 7.5 will be fine with 235 tires and yes you should get the +40 offset.

Im sure I can, I only need 1 wheel but I think I would be more satisfied with paying for a new look. Why exactly would I need the rings?

You need the rings so the rim can sit on the hub. Most aftermarket rims have a big center bore, like 73, our cars are 60.1 and the rings close that gap so it sits on the hub and not just on the lugs. Having the rims sit on just the lugs puts stress on them and can also cause vibration.

I dont mind that they are 17"s, I dont want to buy new tires. I like the fat tire muscle car look. Yes the hub bore matches those rings OD. Now to find the lug nuts I need. Anyone care to point out which lugs I would need with these?

i think our thread lug pitch is M12xP1.5. ebay should carry them. but if you want to be sure run to your local wheel shop and they will sell you a set of acorn lugs. Depending on your location. might want to think about getting some wheel locks also.

Dont use your OEM lug as they will not fit. But keep 5 of them in the trunk to use with the spare tire when you get a flat.

the black paint will chip & those lug will strip easy. I will use 1 on each wheel as a wheel lock. haha

Yeah Ive used lugs like this before and they discolor very easily but that's just the price you pay I guess.

that be a great choice. those spine are better then the cheaper stuff. they dont slip & strip as youre tightening the wheels.
