Thumbs up Headrest monitors.Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm looking to purchase a pair of 7" monitors for the kids.I want to be able to put the dvd in my head unit and be able to watch it on all 3 at the same time. But can I play music or listen to the radio on my head unit while they watch a dvd on the monitors?

Not really looking to spend much and they have to be pre installed with the headrest.

not gonna be cheap unless they are crappy monitors with crappy headrests that is most likely not gonna match your stock ones. I think you can have duo media function if your deck supports it.

You can also add wireless headphones for the kids. As mentioned above, your going to have to get a headunit that can support your media needs.

If you already have a head unit it depends what kind for you to display and play different functions from the front in dash monitor and the rear headrest monitors. I believe the only head unit that plays different screen for in dash and another screen for the head rest are high end Alpine units. The newer Kenwood Excelon units have a function to play audio such as radio through the speakers and play a DVD or USB movie through the headrest. If you are just connecting headset monitors to an existing in dash monitor radio for a good price and quality look into TVIEW or BOSS they offer full kits that come with headrest with various colors to match your interior. Also if you are going to spend money on doing this just put in 9" headrests rather than a 7" monitor price is not that different. Unless your going to do it yourself, a good price to these installed is about $50-$75 for the pair. GL

I have 9" gray Boss headrest monitors in my GS. My wife has 9" tan TVIEW headrest monitors in her GX. If your in SO CAL, although its a drive this spot has good prices on brand name merchandise with install. Check out, SANTACLARITAAUTOSOUND.COM Unless you are very particular which you are best off going to AL&ED's and paying $1500 just for headrest and I'm sure another arm for the install.

I have a set of the new 8" invision screens in mine. Love them. They can watch separate movies or the same one. Runs on their own dvd players.

ok I'll look into TView or Boss, again I'm not really looking to spend a lot it's just for the kids.
I will do the installation myself shouldn't be to hard.

can you post pics of your headrest?
I want to see if we have the same color. I have headrests with monitors and I have no use for them. If we have the same color headrests and you're interested, maybe we can work out a deal.

I don't know any brands offhand, but read the specs, and make sure they are at least 800x480 or 640x480. NOT 400x240 or 320x240. The 240 lines of resolution will make the video look terrible.

I wish someone would make a 720p headrest monitor
