Default Gs Door Actuators Silent Recall

Hello To All GS's Owners,

I came across this recall letter about the Gs Door Actuators Silent Recall. However, this recall did not apply to my GS400 vin#, and I have to replace the lock actuator my own. I am still looking for the whole cheapest part rather than just the motor itself.

It's a good thing Blue Onyx Pearl wasn't available in '98 then.

I called my local Lexus dealership and it turns out this recall does not apply to my GS400 as well, even though the production date was 1/98. I'm assuming it will only apply to the '98 model year 300s and 400s that were produced in late '97.

It says they will replace the door lock assy. Isn't that all one piece(actuator, light switch,lock/latch etc..)?
Pretty sure it is.

And if a recall is still "open" on a particular car, meaning not performed yet, they have to do it regardless of year/mileage.

Edit:it even says the switch that is "bad" is integrated into the lock assy.
My '99 has this issue on the rear doors. When rear doors are opened, the dome/courtesy lights do not come on.

Just called that number, they told me to go to my dealership and have them inspect the door lock, if it does not function right, the dealer will call them back and tell them they inspected it and it does not function properly and they will go from there.. so that sounds like pretty good news I might be covered, why would they tell me to call my dealer and have them inspect it and it will be confirmed my drivers lock don't work and have my dealer call them and confirm this.. sounds like good news and a start that this might be free of charge! Stay tuned

What is your car's production date? (month, year)
