Sounds like it is firing, like it starts to start up, but it doesn't quite do that. The battery sounds like it has plenty of cranking amps to get it started, it seem's I would start with the fuel pump. Did you reset the ECU? Is there a CEL?

Did you ever figure out what the cause was? I have the same issue (mine sounds exactly the same) on my 03 GS300. I checked the fuel pump to hear if it was priming, fuse wasn't blown, and the relay seemed to click (by checked, i mean to the best of my knowledge. i'm not a mechanic).

I even cleaned the MAF.

Want to try to fix myself before having to bring it into a shop.

Was your car starting before the fuel pump, mine wasnt. After installing the pump i get this sounds.I redid everything still nothing. I don't hear the pump turning on. But had fuel coming out when I took it apart the second time. Keep me updated if u find a fix

When I get home i want to take the pump off again. To make sure I put it back together right. Was sure of the placement of one of the white plastic pieces.

You can check it by the marks ( points ) on the pullys (cam shafts and crank shafts )
I will try to find a video to you explains how to check the timming belt adjusting
