Default Can I Replace 1998 GS300 side passenger mirror and frame with corolla part??

Crazy, I know. If I don't care if the mirror is powered and/or heated, will a Corolla side mirror and frame fit to replace my vandalized and missing passenger side mirror and frame on my 1998 Lexus 300 GS? I don't want to spend hundreds to replace this mirror.

go on ebay bro. I'm sure you'll find the mirror for cheap, don't put a corolla mirror on your GS!

There's a reason to my madness. While my engine is in great shape, the interior has had some issues due to flooding rainwater (no water in engine issues though). So, I am not wanting to spend hundreds on this car. Heat and power control are mirror features that I don't need in this car. I'm the only one who drives it. I replaced the passenger side mirror once before and it was vandalized. I can live with a manual unheated mirror as long as it can be painted the pearl white that the rest of the car is AND is the same size. It seems to me that the mirror and mirror dimensions are the same as the Corolla. Sacrilege, I know, but prudent in this case.

Anybody know whether the dimensions of the 1998 GS300 side passenger mirror and frame are the same as the corolla's?

I was thinking It would be the same as a 2000 es300. Before I bought my mirror I was looking at that option.

If you don't care that much about the condition and just want to get one for cheap go to a junkyard and get one there. You might even find one that already painted your color.

Trevstuh, thanks for the tip. I am going to look into that. And, 818GS, thanks for that one too, but for a variety of reasons the junkyard option is not available to me.

If anyone has successfully replaced a passenger side mirror with a non 300GS part, please advise.

What's wrong with the mirror? I have a good condition driver side mirror, just missing a small plastic bracket. You can probable use the one from your current mirror. It's an internal part that probably didn't get messed up by the vandalism.

If not having OEM and looks has no meaning to you, you can put pretty much anything as far as a mirror goes.. it doesnt have to be Corolla specific mirror.
