GS300 takes a long time to heat up
I noticed my O3 GS300 takes a while to heat up after an hour of driving the tempature gauge is still slightly below half so the car is still blowing cool air then as it rises you can feel the heat. Anyone had this problem before im thinking thermostat. Please help!!!!

Thermostat. Replaced mine a month ago. Seal went bad on mine. Pretty easy to do on these vehicles. Radiator drain, thing hardly dropped any fluid from t-stat housing afterwards.

Sorry I am bringing this thread back. But I picked up a 2000 Gs3 last week and I have been fixing a few little issues nothing major. But I noticed that the car takes forever to get to operating temp when driving and it is only about 45*-50 degrees outside. I drive on the highway for 20-30 min and the temp gauge is barely over the first tick mark. Now this doesnt affect the driving performance at all. it does eventually get right below the half way mark which from what I have read seem to be normal. I am really leaning towards replacing the t-stat but I just wanted to get some input from yall and to also say Hi for the first time.
P.S. I have been reading a ton of DYI's on this site and gathering a ton of great knowledge about these great cars.
Thanks in advance

We had -50 in mn last week (with windchill) mine still heats up pretty quickly in the cold, slower depending how cold, but always under 10 mins, usually 5-10 mins of driving and it's warmed up, heat is very hot once it's all the way, mine stays just above the halfway line once it's all the way warmed up

When the car stays cold, the computer keeps providing the extra rich cold start mixture. Not good. The oil never gets properly warm. Not good. In short, time for a new thermostat.
