Default Good deal or not?

Found a Blk. on Blk. 1998 GS400 w/ 148k miles for $4,500.00. All service records come with the car and ALL of the recommended maintenance has been done by Lexus up to the current mileage via Carfax.

Interior is in beautiful condition as well as the exterior. Here's the kicker, it was reported as a total loss by Carfax because it was stolen and not recovered for more than 30 days. I work for a major dealership here in the Chicagoland area and had my used car manager run the carfax and after finding out that the it was listed as a total loss, I called Carfax and had them run an investigation. They called me yesterday at work and indicated that it was never damaged, only that because it wasn't recovered within 30 days, the insurance company labled it a total loss.

Any ideas Guys?

Thanks so much

Actually, it has a "Clear Title", but the Carfax report indicates that the vehicle was listed as a "Total Loss" by the insurance company.

Test drive and then buy if it feels solid and no crazy shakes lights thumps jerks leaks hesitations ... Then just buy with the intentions of updating some things. Price is fair i think.

Price seems fair based on all the maintenance being up to date as you said and being in good condition.
