Exclamation Dont want to replace spoiler but how do replace the bulbs in it?

Very frusterated. I have a 2004 lexus gs430. It has a spoiler with a light in the center. After I got my car back from being totally painted, one of the tail bulbs went out. It was fried. At the same time I noticed that the light in the middle of the spoiler was also not on.
Took the car back and we got a new socket set for the burnt tail light but was told the spoiler light, they cant do anything about. They said that the spoiler did not come with the vehicle. That it was an add on and the light inside cannot be replaced. That it is full of tiny little bulbs. I was told that this happens all the time. The lights in the spoilers only last 7 years and unless i buy another spoiler with a light attached to the middle, there is nothing I can do. NOT happy.

Is this true about the spoilers? Either way there must be a way around this to get that light working again.

Default thank you

So it looks like i can just buy the led light. I dont have to replace the spoiler at all. Good to know.
Any ideas on how long this would take? A body shop would do it.

Is there a way to know if the spoiler came with the car when it was puchased?

Why would u have to replace the whole spoiler?

Threads been covered a lot of times, people have even posted guides on how to change them!

You shouldn't need a body shop to change out a few lights

It is a straight forward process. Just make sure you fish the wires through properly and it's all a matter of a few screws and the interior lining. Because my wires were originally messed up from the original installer, it was a bit more difficult trying to fish it since I needed to remove the whole spoiler to figure out how the original installer wired everything. Good luck!

From what I see you have to remove the spoiler. How else can you get to the light?

If you have a link to the process of replacing the light let me know. Because what i see it is showing that the spoiler must be removed. links to that would be great.

My issue is that i just found out that the spoiler light never worked. SO when the body shop put it together after the car was painted, it shorted out the inside tail lights. So the body shop replaced the sockets as they were black and did not hook up the spoiler light.
What could be the reason for this?
