Those are really high mileage cars. And beware, you might find some that may be in your price range with so and so miles but once you check carfax, youll notice that on there that it was rolled back. But then again, you can still buy them and show them the carfax and prove the rollback and sue them =]..But yes, take your time and find a real nice one with decent miles for a decent price.

I don't know your financial situation. But save and get something in the low 100k mile range. Especially if your wife is going to drive the car you don't want to have any problems. Buying a car in the 200k mile range, I believe is a bad decision no matter what car as it is getting closer to the end of its lifespan unless you are looking to fully rebuild the vehicle which does not seem to be the matter. Not sound advice here. If a 2GS has been taken care of properly and had the major services done when they're supposed to, 200k is nothing on it. As a matter of fact, a car that's still in good shape in the 200k range MUST have been taken good care of, otherwise it wouldn't have made it that far. You can't have that kind of confidence in many cars, but a 2GS is one of them. With simple regular maintenance you can get 3-400k out of these cars without batting an eyelash.

I'd rather have a car with 250k that shows signs of being very well maintained and save 3-4 thousand dollars over a car that has 100k on it and may or may not have been taken care of. Think about it...100k miles in 11 years is below average, less than 1000 miles per month. If they didn't drive it that much, how do you know they maintained it at the correct intervals.

I'd keep on looking. There has to be something nicer with lower mileage.

Thanks all for the advice. We ended up getting a 2003 GS430 today with 133,000 miles for $9000. It's black with black interior, has navigation, and the interior is almost immaculate. It's begging to have the windows tinted though. We liked the way it handled when we test drove it, and I really fell in love with it on the way home. Needless to say, I'm really impressed with this car. Thanks again to all for your guidance.

more miles means it has been on the road more, more chances of getting in a wreck minor or major. 1 in 3 cars on the road today have been in some sort of fender bender in its life time.

Congrats on your car, I patiently waited to buy my car, I bought a 2001 GS 430 silver one with 91k miles for $6500. both bumpers have alot of nics but I talked him down, espeacially since I knew I would get a body kit anyway. I'm still loking for a bodykit. Took me about 6 months to find a car though
