Default Headlight cleaning

I got a Rain X Headlight Restoration Kit cause my girl was saying how nice my car looks but the headlight make it look old. now a year or so ago i used the "Meguiar's One-Step Headlight Restoration Kit" and it worked pretty well for about a month

so here is what i did. for the most part i didnt follow the instructions word for word cause im egotistical like that and live by "nothing ventured nothing gained"

i cleaned the head lights with warm soapy water and rinsed them.
then i taped off the headlights to protect the paint.
then sanded with the #1 pad then the #2 and finally the #3 but i didnt fallow the patterns in the directions i just sanded it like i would anything else,
i only used the lubricant when i first started each pad i had a bucket of water with a couple drops of dish soap that i kept dipping the sanding pad into to keep it clean, i used the same water to wash off the headlight when ever i felt it was to dirty.
the key to wet sanding is keeping it clean. next step was to use the polishing cream and a micro fiber towel.....yea i didnt do that i took the polishing pad that i still had from the meguiars kit and hit the headlights with that on a drill. then i washed and dried the headlights and applied 2 coats of the sealant and another coat this morning.
here are some before and afters

maybe it's just me, but i don't see any after pics. also what did you use for sealant? i'm using the blue magic version, but idk if it's just snake oil (which I'm assuming).

does your sealant spread on more like a greasy thin film? I actually have the Meguiar's verson not blue magic.

I have the turtle wax kit I am going to use. After I put the sealant on I am planning on putting clear vinyl over the lights to protect from chipping etc. I hope the vinyl doesn't start to cloud up.

It still looks hazy to me.

My friend did this for me

1. This looks like your finish product.

2.

He sanded it, then buff, then put opti coat on it

I used Wet 2500 grit sandpaper and scuffed the headlights up a bit. Then I used PlastiX to polish. This would keep my headlights looking sharp for a couple months. However, when you buff your headlights like this it usually takes off the UV Protective coating. For this reason, the headlights will fog up again within a couple of months from Sun damage.

Recently I bought new headlights. Unfortunately they were scratched up upon install
This time I used PlatiX to polish them, but afterwards I put on a few coats up Diamondite Clear Plastic Liquid Armor. I cannot attest to how the Diamondite holds up, but we will see.

What grit sandpaper? With or without a drill?
