Default Shifting issues

Hey guys new to the lexus. Just bought a gs300 liking so far. Big question though. When I come to a complete stop and take off the car hesitate 10 to 30 sec before taking off. Or when I’m just cruising and try to pass someone it hesitate or very laggie. Feels like the trans is binding up. What’s could this be?

Correct. It doesn't always throw a code. Replace air filter too.

Got ya. I was thinking on changing the intake to cai. I’ve read it’s no point. Some say can tell a little change. More in sound. Worth changing to cai or just do a k&n drop replacement filter? Thanks for the advice!!!

It's also possible that you have a crack/leak on that tube with the folds. There's a resonator box just above the header and it will collect oil over time from the exhaust side valve cover, eventually heat/oil/time will break it down. If you rev the motor do you see the fold accordion up? If not then you'll want to replace it.

Not sure I will have to check it. So right above the header there’s a box that will fold while rev it?

the tube with accordion will fold when rev, the box is on the bottom side of the tube and has a tendency to crack

Ok I see what your talking about now. So did a tune up. Changed a few vaccum lines. Cleaned the Maf. Idle runs perfect slightly rev it up does fine. Give it half or full throttle falls on its face and seems to choke out. No cel lost on what it could be

Reset your ECU. Disconnect the battery negative cable for a few minutes and reconnect. Also, check again for vacuum leaks.

What’s the best way to test vaccum if I don’t have a smoke machine? Also started to drive it again after doing the tune up and cleaning map. It does have better power. And the hesitation has cleared up a lot. To even gone. But there is still a little miss to hesitation when getting on it hard. Very hard to notice. Still puzzled really trying not taking it to the dealer. Lol. I also noticed when doing the tune up the first coil pack where the main harness plugs into, the clip is broken. I zip tied to just make sure it does not pop off. Do they have replacement for the black clip? Or u have to install a new harness??

Just google the coil pack connector that’s simple to do. Have to order one and Install.

So I caved in took the car to the dealer. Well I should of listen. Lol but I didn’t want to waste the money of it wasn’t the maf sensor but they said maf sensor or as they called it the air flow meter. They said they could do it $450. So I ordered the part and will be installing it in a couple of days thanks guys for all the info. I’ve been out of the gas world for a few years. Now was hesitated on working on it. Lol getting my confidence back up thaksmagain guys
