what a Lexus feels like with aftermarket wheels having a larger bore than 60.1mm and no hubcentric rings!

get those hubcentric rings folks when using aftermarket wheels.

^ true. I have aftermarket wheels or sometime and never had hub rings. I now have them and no difference.

Negative. ALL aftermarket wheels need hub centric rings. TRUST me.

i agree. if they move around and are only spaced on by your lug nuts.. that's just not enough. now imagine you're running a decent amount of camber with just lug nuts and no hubcentric rings.. there could be a possibility that your studs will break off while driving. this happened to my buddy on 2 separate occasions, he was doing 60mph~ on the highway and they snapped off cause he cheaped out on hubcentric rings (they're cheap anyways).

and lugs do come loose after awhile, that's why you need to retorque them from time to time.

Conflicting experiences it sounds like. I've run 2 different sets of aftermarket wheels (18s and 19s) on my GS with no hubcentric rings and no vibration issues at all. I was told that our cars are lugcentric and that the wheel centers itself when torqued down. Sounds like it may be dependent on the type of wheel or lug type (flat vs. conical).

ive got a bit of a shimmy from 55 to 60. otherwise...its butter.

will hubcentric rings get rid on that?

Not all. But when ruining ones that do not have the correct center bore you should run rings.

There is a reason that there is a huge market for hubcentric rings.

Wheel balance? No. My car vibrates like crazy without rings. With rings it's buttery smooth.

Just because your car doesn't vibrate with aftermarket wheels does not mean the rings aren't critical in general.

If you have a new car or fresh bushings, maybe you aren't feeling anything now. As soon as the bushings start to wear and your car becomes more susceptible to minor balances, you will understand how critical those rings are.

Just you think lexus would have offered a 20 inch wheel option if they wanted to? but no they didn't because it just wasn't right.
