Default muffler delete with branch antiresonator

I installed a custom branch anti-resonator with my muffler delete. The entire system uses the same flange and hangars as the stock muffler so at any time I can put the original back in.

There is only a very slight resonance at 1400 rpm and none at any other RPM inside the car.

Inside the car its relatively quiet

Here are some vids and pics.

I recently just deleted my 3rd muffler and installed the Top Speed Pro Y-pipe with smaller resonators.. Sounds pretty good.. Will try to post a vid this week... It seemed louder before i did the 3rd muffler delete with the y-pipe but now it seems like a more refined and tuned sound.. Definitely louder but no drone at cruising speeds...

Nice videos

Do you have drone at any rpm? If you don't I have a hard time believing it.

I have drone in the lower gears and between 20-60 mph.. but at cruising speeds around 80 its pretty quiet.. We all some sort of drone when modifying the exhaust...

Not with the branch anti resonator. That is my point on this thread. I do have a small amount at 1400 rpm when I am easy on the gas up a small incline and that's it. It is almost as quiet as stock inside the car otherwise. You do hear the exhaust noise out the back but it does not resonate in the cabin. I can hear my engine belts and fan noise ect like with a stock exhaust . And no drone on the freeway at 50, 60, 70, or 80.

Custom made. It's just a pipe at 90 degrees from the main pipe with a dead end. You adjust the length to half the resonant frequency. It then sends a sound wave Half a sine wave out of sinc to the resonant frequency therefore eliminating it. You can use a free ap on an iPod that shows the resonant frequency to figure out the length of the pipe to eliminate it. If you have more than one resonant it will eliminate or near eliminate all the ones within 300 to 400 rpm within the rpm of the resonant and mellow out the rest. Since I had the resonant at 1700 rpm and 1400 rpm I picked a length that matched the frequency around 1600 rpm this is why there is still some left at 1400 rpm but from 1500 on up there is nothing.

You can also use it to tune out a resonant a muffler may leave, like a magnaflow for example. Or tune out the ones that are most annoying.

Do you have better pics? That entire explanation went right over my head.

Also the bigger the tube diameter of the branch the more effective it is

whoa, that's interesting.. what size is the piping that you used? for both the actual pipe and the 90* bent tube branch thing? From the looks of it, it looks like 3" piping
