Varrstoen 1.1.2 on a 2GS
Hi folks,
I have a 2001 GS430 that is sitting on Tanabe NF210 springs which offer a modest 1.0-1.5" drop. The car is mostly stock without any fender lip work of any kind.
I am considering ordering the Varrstoen 1.1.2 wheels in a hyper silver finish but before I do, I have some questions that I am hoping some of the board members here can answer. I'm looking at the 19x9.5 and 19x11 (they no longer offer the 19x10.5 unfortunately).
1.) Although Varrstoen offers these wheels in a 18" and 20" as well, I think the 19" look proportional given the size of the car. Next, if I stick with 19", the following offsets are available:
19x9.5: 0, 12, 22, 30mm
19x11: 0, 15, 25, 30mm
The most common offset among the board members seems to be 22mm front and 25mm rear. These offsets seem to put the wheel close to flush with the fender so the tires are having to be purchased narrow (like 225/235 front and 245/255 rear) to get them to stretch enough to clear. Personally, I'm not too fond of the overly stretched look and would prefer that the tire be more square on the rim, ie. 245 front and 275 rear for example. Given that, I am considering using the 30mm offset for both front and rear to separate the fender from the wheel lip a bit. The concern then becomes inner wheel clearance.
Can anyone confirm whether or not a 19x9.5 30mm and a 19x11 30mm will clear to the inside? Of course the ride height and tire size will play a roll, but answering this in general terms would be helpful.

2.) If I get the 30mm instead of 22mm in the front and 30mm instead of 25mm in the rear, am I sacrificing 8mm and 5mm of wheel "dish" respectively? Of course the more wheel "dish" the better as I like stepped wheels.
3.) Has anyone weighed these wheels? Hopefully they are not too heavy (somewhere in the 20's lbs would be good).
4.) Varrstoen quality? I realize that these are budget wheels and cost 1/3 or less of what the real thing would cost from BBS. At the same time, I do expect the wheels to be durable, survive potholes, etc, otherwise it's a none-starter.
5.) How long has this company been around and does anyone know where the wheels are manufactured? I assume China?
6.) Is there a Varrstoen rep that frequents the boards here? Maybe that individual can chime in.
7.) Are there any alternatives to the Varrstoen centercaps? Will BBS LM centercaps fit Varrstoen 1.1.2 wheels? I'm not seeing I want to do this, but I'm curious as to what my centercap options are.
I don't mind shaving/rolling fenders, but this is a daily driver and I don't want to go over the top.

i know the members on here with 19x9.5 and 19x11 you WILL need to shave the front and roll the back , so you WILL need fender work.
quality of the varrstoen are definitely better than some of the reps out there, and i would not suggest running bbs center caps with varrstoen rims!

Varrstoen has said that the 9.5 and 11 will be available with a 30mm offset front and rear in August.
I should probably wait for those slightly more "daily driver" friendly offsets compared to ordering the 22/25mm that are available now.

Hi there.
Here is mine..
9,5+22 up front with 5mm spacer (+17 up front.)
10,5 +22 at rear no spacers..
225 tires front
245 rear.
Shave at rear and a roll and slight pull at front. Sittein on BC coils.

That looks incredible, nicely done! Is this your car in the link below?
At the same time, your images confirm that the current offset offering from Varrstoen is a bit too aggressive for me.
I'd like to see the 9.5/11 in a 30-35mm offset so I have a better chance of getting the wheels to tuck with a less stretched tire... maybe a 245/35 front and 275/35 rear

The silver and black cars above look incredible but both look to be running a 10.5" 22mm wheel in the rear.
The 19x11 25mm that's offered by Varrstoen now would actually stick out 3mm further than either of those which are already aggressive in my eyes.
