aftermarket trunk alignment
i just recently put a VIS Carbon Fiber trunk on my 2gs, and having trouble getting it to sit flush on both sides. any ideas?

left side
mine is also on the left side. i have tried taking to springs off both sides but still not flush. was thinking about having my buddy get in the trunk and try to align it while it was closed.

Unfortunately, there really isn't any real adjustment back there. There might be like a few mm of movement, but they built these cars with pretty tight tolerances from the factory so there is no need for adjustments like these. When you go aftermarket the parts aren't made to the same standards as OEM so it will sometimes cause fitment issues.
I suggest you to try to keep messing with the bolts attaching the trunk to the hinge. There are also these rubber stoppers in there you can possibly try to tweak or adjust. You can even buy some rubber pads from the hardware store and stack on top of the rubber pads to increase spacing.

As with any aftermarket truck you're going to need to devote a day into making it fit. The adjustment is in how you bolt the truck down. When I had a CF VIS truck we had shim on one side to even it out, before the shims one side looked to be "flush" and the other "poped up" after the shims both sides looked properly aligned. Dedicate Saturday to drinking beer, sitting back, and saying, "well we need to add two washers to the left" "nope just one" etc. Beer is required for proper fitment of aftermarket parts without it they will not fit.
