Default poured a bottle of lucas deep clean fuel cleaner = TROUBLE

i normally always use chevron techron concentrate but autozone didn't have any in stock at the time, instead i went ahead with the lucas deep clean fuel system cleaner after 10 minutes of driving i got a bad erratic idling, car began shaking violently, revs bounced low as if almost shutting down, the car bogs for a few seconds when i floor it, this product is awful. i've used this in my previous 3 and 5 series bmw with no problems, i'm just surprised at the outcome on my gs4. it responds normal while driving, but while idling, it's just plain bad. car shakes violently and when floored, it bogs for a second or so and then takes off...

anyone with a similar experience using this?

I've never had an issue w/ lucas either. Foreign or domestic. What octane level are you using? and did you start w/ a full tank of petro?

Hello sir, I use chevron and at times 76 and have been using lucas (about 6oz) per fill up for about a year and a half now and I have never had any problems on my vehicle. I believe you may have used too much for the proper mixture.

Keep adding gas to your tank to dilute the product more. Also, I only use seafoam in my tank, once a year as this stuff is getting more expensive. I pump super regularly.

hey guys, i poured the entire bottle on less than 1/4 tank of 93 gas...i think that's my problem as i heard that lucas deep clean is a strong additive, hopefully adding more fuel to dilute it like KPHU said may cure the problem. i normally use chevron techron with good results but decided to give this a try, i just hope it won't cause any damage to my pump. a year ago, i did a seafoam tru both the throttle body and the brake booster hose...great results. cleaned up all that gunk
