A few progress pics of round 2
As some of you know I sold my drivetrain out of my Twin Turbo 1UZ GS400. I had all intentions of parting the car out and selling the shell. Needless to say, things have changed and im in the process of rebuilding her.......bigger and better, meaning more HP.
First pic......had the engine bay cleaned up and sprayed gloss black. I want it to look nice and pretty once the new motor set up goes in. Keeping it simple and clean under the hood, all black and chrome/ polished. You cant really tell in this pic, but it looks real good. I figured if I ever got the urge to repaint the car a custom color down the road, the gloss black engine bay would match anything.
next up, tore out the interior, bought a complete black swap.....the dash was fun!
I swear this black swap was up there with some of the best money ever spent on this car. It makes me like my silver exterior all over again. Still need to get a new steering wheel and put the arm rest on. I have some wiring to do still. The ***** of the dash removal was more the wiring I have ran for other stuff than the dash itself. The wiring on the floor board is for my Haltech stand alone. Its getting rewired for the new set up, so its just sitting there for now.
What a relatively clean garage looks like during an interior swap.....
When I sold my WIN rear spolier it left holes in the trunk lid that I was going to get filled and repainted, I decided to roll the dice and buy a carbon fiber trunk. I really thought I would regret this and end up selling it do to fitment. To my surprise, it actually fits pretty damn good. Matches the CF hood.
I had all intentions on haveing the back side of the trunk painted to match the car and leaving the top surface CF. I was going to go with a Vertex lip spoiler to break the seam between the CF top and the painted rear. I would love some opinions, paint the rear of the trunk, or leave it CF???
This pic kinda sucks, but you get the idea.
Much much more to come in the next month or two....waiting for some engine parts to come back from getting coated.
This round of rebuild actually has me interested in my car again.

yeah man, this rebuild has basically renewed my interest all over again, the build process is fun and exciting for sure. Im going to get the seats and door panels redone with black suede inserts once I get the car up and running. Im dropping alot of coin on the project, i want to make sure I dont run out of money 3/4 the way through. The interior was a spur of the moment purchase that I didnt plan on, but it was calling my name.
