i wouldn't repaint and try to avoid it at all costs, no paint job could ever replace a factory black onyx lexus paint job from the factory,The factory paints the car when its bear metal.

Nowadays there's an additional reason. Since the high voc paints are now banned, you can't even get the same durability of paint as what was originally on these older cars; even if it was from the factory.
