What exactly did you order and how do you plan to use it? Amazon?

Default Replaced battery

Now battery dies in a day. Went back to Advanced Auto who insisted the battery must be charged before they can do anything, even though it was charged by them previously.

I actually hoped the battery would come back with a failure so they can replace the Gold Optima under the three year warranty.

After 30 minutes, thankfully it did come back with the same test results: "Charge Required".

After 2+ hours and much aggravation, they replaced the battery but only with an Optima Silver cause that's the only 25 battery that they make for the GS400.

I let the car sit for a week, AND... It started right up.

Seems I never had an alternator or parasitic drain problem, and my synopsis is that once I let the car sit for a month over the summer, and had to jump the battery, it degraded from there, and having had to jump it over a dozen times since the summer, battery simply went kaput (even though It would take some charge, but not enough for cold crank).

One thing I learned is that warranty means nil at these places unless you're willing to wait for an up to three hour charge and if the result comes back from THEIR tests that the battery is fine, then you might as well go elsewhere and simply buy a new battery before damaging your alternator. Time is $.

Thanks

Default GS400 99 battery drain too

I'm having the same issue. The car won't start after a 8 hour sit in the parking lot. Tested every fuses and i have a 0.750 miliamp drain from a 15 amp fuse. According to a precise diagram, the battery get drained by something around the cluster, headlamp controler, warnings, and other that i forgot.

I presume that my SWITCH ASSEMBLY, HEADLAMP DIMMER may be the culprit.

http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...414050090.html

Part # 84140-50090

I also have a problem with my headlamps. It won't turn on when i put the switch to headlamp or even auto. Previous owner stated that at the beggining it was intermittent problem. now they don't come on at all and have a battery drain. All fuses are good and no click in the relay box. For the moment i need to pull out the fuse to stop the drain.

Hey big123 you started this thread so if you resolved your issue don't you think you should have the decency to tell us how you resolved it?

Default new battery

My issue was resolved by a new battery - I highly recommend trying this.

Just replying to this old thread in case someone else has the same issue, like I do. I'm too cheap to buy the 150.00 ignition harness or whatever it is, so I ordered a cheap $5.00 key blank on ebay (no keyless guts or transponder) and paid a local locksmith 15.00 to have it cut. So now I leave this dummy key in the ignition if I know I'm going to leave the car longer than five or six hours (such as in my garage at night, or at work). It won't start the car, but that's the good thing about it. Yea, it's a hack way to fix the problem, but 20 bucks is better than 150 :-). With the dummy key in the ignition, the relay doesn't keep clicking and drain the battery.

Default Can't keep battery charged!!!!

Hello...
I read some of the posts that other owners wrote about their battery not holding a charge. I changed my battery, the cables and put post protectors on...didn't solve the problem. I then had the alternator and the cables checked and they were good. I don't drive far and I don't drive everyday due to this problem. Does anyone know about what might be causing this issue??? Where are the fuses that are supposed to be checked? I have been doing all the repairs and check ups myself since the issues haven't been something that requires a mechanic yet. Please help.

Thats a good way of finding the source for current draw. You need to check all acc or circuits related to the fuse that stop the battery drain. Before you condem the battery have it checked ,if its ok ,then you check your charging system, if thats ok you have a concern what you call parasitic draw.

What year is your car?

i have this draw, I checked the fuses under the hood in front of the battery and nothing changed. Not sure how to check the fuses inside the car, since there is no door plug that i can see.
