Default need a lil advice

i just got a 98 lexus gs400 about a week ago.. when i found it it supposibly had 113k miles on it.. but odo says it has 296xxx... was a daily driver before bought... and bad thing is i got it signed papers and everything already so i cant turn back. i was really impatient to buyin a car ive always wanted paid 6500. but it runs like new was told that it was serviced and always well maintained.. did i do bad in gettin it? its like my first car i have bought on my own so im planning on keepin it for a while.. how long would the motor last if i keep it mantained very well?my dad said its made by toyota and toyota is built to last is this correct? and if the motor was to go out soon would it be best to get it rebuilt or replace with a low mile motor? ... i will post pics soon so u guys can see my car..

$6500 for a car that has 300k miles on it!?! What the heck you were thinking? I don't understand why you are even asking us this. You were told that it had 113k miles on the car, you went there and the odo says 296k and you still OVERPAID for the car...so why ask questions afterwards? You weren't forced to pay for the car. You paid because you wanted to. These are good cars if maintained, but at that mileage, you have to replace the timing belt immediately if it hasn't been changed. That will run between $750-1k based on where you go. Fluids needs to be replaced, all rubber bushings are completely shot with that year and mileage. If you are not a DIY'er, then you basically paid close to $7500-8k once you add additional work that needs to be done.

Not trying to sound mean, but this is the worst deal I've ever heard someone follow thru with

How do you get the miles confused by THAT much? And why would the seller lie?

did he mean the motor has 113k cause its possibly a new one in there?

I dont know, this is bad. Very bad.

Could've been a gauge cluster swap and they're simply adding to the 113k for how many miles they put on the new cluster.
