How do we feel about Bosch parts?
I am working on a DIY install of my oxygen sensors (Bank1Sensor1 and Bank2Sensor1) due to a p0133 and p0153 code that is pending after resetting my computer after getting a p0171 code. I am assuming it is the two front O2 sensors (Only time will tell).
At any rate, I wanted to save a few bucks by buying some aftermarket sensors but my local autoparts stores didn't carry the Denso 214-4209. I opted for the Bosch 15733 instead due to time constraints. I was skeptical because I like to use as close to OEM products as possible and I also read somewhere that the Bosch parts could possibly cause my CEL to stay uneasy. Does anyone have experience with this exact part? Should it be ok to use these instead of Denso?
Also, while detaching the electrical connector end of O2 sensor B2S1, I noticed the brown wire from the part it connects to was spliced directly into the white ground wire of the sensor cable. Is this ok if it is spliced correctly or could this be the cause of my codes? I would like to replace it but I do not know what the name of that particular part is and I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone flep me with this? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch in advance!
