I believe you have the center one (pioneer) use one of the mounting bolts as your ground

okay so where did you guys mount the ground wire to? cause i mounted it to one of the bolts that mount the cd changer and i get really bad ground noise...so i changed it to another spot that is directly on the car chasis and still has ground noise...how do i get rid of it...it very annoying when i play my music...thanks...

The ground screw shared by the amp was located right around the tip of the green arrow for me, behind that panel. You can still get to it without removing the panel, just pop the side off and pull it back a bit allowing a wrench back there.

anyone?
im going to try something fancy, heat-shrink wrap the wires and make it neat
also got this coiled 3.5mm cable
going to try to keep it clean and tidy
still not so sure where i should be mounting it or where the wire should be coming out, thinking about the side panel (lower left of the glove compartment) so i can keep my phone in the cup holder

Well if you want to sacrifice sound quality yeah sure do it no ones stopping you, that's what I had before and I hated it aux gives you a much higher quality of sound

ok I did this an i am not able to get the full sound. I get the voice and the beat but the bass is gone and it does not sound right. I took the wires out if the harness that plugs into the CD changer. Should i have grabbed the other harness? Also when i plug the wires in the order given I have to turn it all the way up in order to hear something.
Any ideas where I went wrong?

I have a '95 ES300.. does anyone have a wiring diagram that would show how to pull this same trick on an older ES300?
I think it has RearRight, RearLeft, FrontRight, FrontLeft lines (from the radio to the amp). Is there a sensible way to wire this up using those instead of CDR+, CDR-, CDL+, CDL-?

i finally found time to finish this mod
took me about 45 mins to tap into the CD harness in my car since it was too dark in my garage so extra time was needed
here is my addition to the thread to supplement original poster's guide
1. to get to the 2x 10mm bolts holding the bottom portion of the glove compartment, u have to pull down the darker plastic cover below the glove compartment
there are clips holding it in place, so you just pull on the plastic cover with some force and the whole thing will come down
2. once removed all 3x screws and 2x 10mm bolts holding the glove compartment, u can remove the whole glove compartment by first unplugging the light harness
3. at this step, you will see the CD player held in by 3x 10mm bolts (1 on the left, 2 on the right)
left bolt (bolt removed in this picture)
right bolts (bolts removed in this picture)
4. after removing the bolts to the CD player, u can get to the wiring harness behind it. here is the plug that is connected to the CD player, u need to disconnect it and this is the one you will need to tap into (not the orange one)
5. i then cut the protective wrap around the wires, carefully, making sure i am not cutting any wires
i opened up about 1.5 inches of rubber wrap to give me room to tap into the wires
6. I carefully sliced each of the required wires' (CDR+,R-,L+,L-) coating open, enough to expose the raw wires to the T-joints
then i connected the crimpped female ends to the T-joints
7. I ran the ground wire to the amplifier's screw. My car is a 2001 GS300 with stock nav and stock pioneer audio (only the Lexus Premium Audio... not ML)
this amp box is positioned to the right of the CD player
(ignore the t-joints in this picture, those are for my aftermarket sub)
8.. I then reversed the previous procedures, plugged the wires back in...
9. I used the mediabridge 3.5mm wire i bought off amazon which is coiled to run it out of the glovebox
this gives it enough slack and extension to go to my MP3 player which can be halfway put into the cassette deck or my phone in the cup holder
combined with the blank audio CD track, this mod (if done properly like so) will yield CD quality audio (im using Sandisk MP3 player that plays FLAC files very well)
i heard no alternator whines, no static, no noise
just good audio
thanks again to OP for posting this
I am a happy camper now
just need to figure out how to lessen the number of wires around my center console area (have escort 9500i radar detector out of cig lighter, micro-usb cord for charging the phone, 3.5mm cord for this mod to my mp3 player...)
