WOW! I get maybe 300miles to a tank in my FWD V6 ES300 Then again its winter, so i idle it for much longer than normal.
I thought this too, in my travels, but its the exact same... The numbering system is different in Europe, but the same fuel;
In the United States, pump octane is an average of 2 ratings, research octane (RON) and motor octane (MON). If you look at any gas pump in the United States, you will see a yellow sticker that says "octane by R + M / 2" That is the basic formula for an average. These 2 numbers mean different things. You could make an analogy to that of a blood pressure reading (systolic and diastolic). Research Octane number is always higher than Motor Octane number.
In Europe, they only report the RON. You may hear people discussing that in Europe, the octane is higher. Well, that is not exactly true. You see, in Europe, you might find 96 octane at a local gas station. (wow 96, highest we have here is 94). Well, that 96 is equivalent to 92 here in the States.

Question, when you fill up (until the pump clicks) does your needle appear to go past the F? Whenever I fill up this happens and that is when I get close to 300 from F til the gas warning light

This is dang near amazing.. Draft much? I've gotten close to 350 once with my 01 GS430 and I thought _that_ was pushing the limit. Being really light on the pedal works wonders but I can't help but think I'm missing something? I'm probably doing it wrong
Do you use snow mode?

I run Redline S1 injector cleaner b4 every oil change to keep the deposits off the injectors. It's loaded with PEA.

I just drove my new-to-me 98 GS400 from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Portland, Maine and averaged just over 25mpg for the 2,200 mile trip. Most of the roads were posted 70mph and I kept it between 77-85mph pretty much the whole way up the coast. My previous GS400 managed an average of just over 20mpg in the 5 years that I owned it, with mostly city driving. If you're not getting these kind of numbers you should definitely have someone take a look.
Good luck!
